Another week, another set of improvements! Public profiles are now live and will show a selection of details to people who haven't signed up for sonata yet, perfect for sharing your profile! We're also making it easier to invite your friends, starting with more prompts for you to share your profile or sonata with other people!

## New Features

- 🌏 Once enabled, other people can view your public profile even if they are not signed in. This will show a limited overview of your name, profile picture, most recent vibe, and favorites. This is especially helpful when sharing your profile with other people on the internet without sharing more personal details like your age!
- 👯 We now occasionally display prompts to invite your friends to sonata for a much better experience! If you have any additional ideas or thoughts on how we could help you get your friends on board, please send some feedback [via mail](mailto:hey@sonata.app) or the feedback button in sonata!

## Fixes and improvements

- 🔢 We now display a number pad for entering your auth code, so you can get to your vibes much quicker
- 🔒 We improved playlist selection to prevent you from accidentally setting the same playlist twice, which lead to some issues before


🌏 Public Profiles for the internet

Did you ever listen to a great vibe one of your friends just posted and felt the need to react to it? Showing you totally dig the song or can't stand it? With the new vibe reactions, we made sure you can share your feelings on a vibe quickly, and if you want to put more thought into it, just attach a message!

## New Features

- 🔥 When viewing a vibe, you can now react to it by tapping on `Send Reaction`, then choose from one of the available reactions, or send a message!

## Fixes and improvements

- 🔄 Your playlists will now refresh periodically, so your recommendations are always up-to-date!


🔥 React to your friends' vibes!

After a week of building, we're excited to introduce our newest feature, the friend feed! While vibes allow you to share what you're, well, vibing to, the friend feed is a continuously-evolving list of content your friends have been enjoying recently.

We've also added a share button to your profile, to make it easier to share your profile with your friends, and on social media!

## New Features

- 💃 We released the sonata friend feed to the public, so you can see what your friends are listening to at the moment. You will have to enable the friend feed for yourself to see your friends' details as well, and you'll only see the feed of people you're chatting with. You can view the friend feed in the dedicated view, or on your friends' profiles.

- 📲 Your profile now includes a share button, which will open the share dialog on mobile, and present your full profile to signed in users, and your limited public profile otherwise. You can disable the public profile in your account settings. The link will be personalized and include some profile details as well, so it looks great when sharing!

## Fixes and improvements

- 👓 We improved the visibility of your latest vibe, which is now displayed on your profile

- 📩 Since we're experimenting with new ways to keep you up to date with what's happening on sonata, we added a section for your notification preferences to the account settings view. With this, you can easily manage which notifications you wish to receive.


💃 Introducing the Friend Feed

While we're cooking up another round of new features, we've made sure to address a lot of feedback we got from our first launch event! The most significant changes you'll notice are outlined below 👍

## New Features

- 🤗 We've added more genders to our system to make sure everyone can feel included when using sonata for dating. If you think we missed something, please reach out through the feedback dialog!

- 📬 Chat invites are now displayed on the overview page, so you get to meet people much quicker now!
- ✅ You can now complete the onboarding without setting a playlist! While it is required for finding people you'll vibe with, if you just want to get start quickly, we've got you covered, too!

- 🎸 We now keep your favorites around, even if your provider connection is cut by any issue. Just reconnect and continue adding your vibes and setting your favorite content on your profile!

This week we focused on making your profile more customizable, so you can express yourself and share the music you love in more ways. You can now add up to five of your favorite artists and tracks to your profile, using the overhauled account settings page.

We spent quite some time improving and polishing vibes even further!

- 🎧 Preview any song before adding it to your vibes with the preview button next to the track title when creating a vibe
- 💬 Quickly send a chat message to the person who posted the vibe you're viewing, if you haven't connected, you can send a chat invite!
- 😢 In the unlikely case that no preview is provided by Spotify, we'll display a hint so you can skip ahead!

👯 Even better vibes


We're absolutely thrilled to present a feature we've been working on for a long time: vibes. You know how exhausting it is to exchange the tracks you love with your friends? Sharing Spotify links over your messenger of choice? That doesn't sound convenient at all.

This is why we're introducing vibes, a completely new way to share what you're vibing to! On the home page, you'll see your friends' vibes next to your own, capturing the last day of listening experience. Whenever you feel the need to share a vibe, simply add it!

Clicking on your friends' image will present you with the full screen experience where you can listen to a brief preview of the tracks, or start playing them in Spotify in one tap!

Sharing your favorite music has never been this easy, and we're just getting started 🤩

## New Features

- 🎧 Connect your Spotify account and start adding your vibes! You'll see your friends' vibes in the home page as well, so you can discover what your friends are listening to!
- ⏭ Play the previous or next vibe by tapping on the left or right side of the screen
- ⚡️ Composing a vibe takes no more than two taps, simply click on the add vibe button, select a track from your recently played or top tracks, or search for something else!

- 🎵 You can now select your favorite playlist from a list of your playlists instead of having to copy and paste a link!

Another batch of improvements to make your experience much more delightful!

## New Features

- 🖼 We know uploading images wasn't the most pleasant experience, and mismatched aspect ratios made you look much more warped than you are, so we got back to the drawing board and crafted an all-new image picker!

## Fixes and improvements

- 🎙 We saw that a lot of you enjoy listening to podcasts, so we made sure you can import playlists no matter if episodes were included or not!
- ⏱ We want you to get to your matches much faster, so we shortened the onboarding experienced and focused only on the relevant details!
- 🗺 Clicking on a link, having to sign in and losing track of what you wanted to check out is annoying, so we made sure you're redirected to the place you checked out before signing in!


🖼 Improved profile picture experience


With this update, you won't ever miss out on new invites or chat messages! Clicking on the link in the notification mails will send you straight to the chat or open up the invite 👍

## Fixes and improvements

- 😍 One of the most requested improvements, you can now send chat messages when pressing enter/return, which also works on mobile. If you want to add another paragraph to your message, press shift+enter
- 💥 Sometimes, things break. To let us know when that happens, we added a dialog where you can share additional feedback, so we can get right to it!


📨 You've got mail


We focused on improving the user experience and our infrastructure, so we haven't got huge features for the moment, but we can assure you, that using sonata now feels much better!

- 📱 You can now add sonata to the home screen by opening the share dialog and tapping `Add to home screen`. This will make your experience near-native and much more immersive to use!

sonata is the all in one platform to meet new people for casual chats, but also for dating. To make sure you get the best experience, we introduced a range of new features!

## New Features

- 🎛 Choose whether you want to use sonata for finding friends, dating, or both!
- 🤔 See why a user sent a chat invite (whether it was matching for friends or dating, for example)
- 👁 Added a progress indicator to show how far you're in the onboarding
- 🖐 Show a warning when the selected image will be too big to upload

- 💬 Vastly improved the chat experience, fixed all kinds of styles, prevented unnecessary scrolling and zoom, the whole package!
